Re: Multiple ways to bring a bird back to life (opinions wanted)

I agree with all of the above. The ground effects definitely need to come off. I found some more rust on mine that I would have otherwise overlooked if I hadn't taken mine off. The more rust you stop...

Re: Hmmm making 85-92 Trans Am hood functional?

My construction has unfortunately come to a hault for a little while due to lack of funds and waiting for parts. I also have a four month old at home that requires quite a bit more attention than the...

Re: Camaro Stalls While Burning Out

There is not really enough info provided to acurately diagnose the issue, but I'll give you a little food for thought. An engine only needs three things to run; fuel, air and spark. IMO the...

Re: Car not starting

Possibly a throttle position sensor? I had an 86 IROC that would stall out when hot, but would stay running if I two footed it at a red light. It wound up being a dead spot in the TPS. Good luck,...

Re: 89 305 tpi wont idle

Put a volt meter on the TPS wires while plugged in. Turn the key on and monitor the voltage while turning the throttle slowly. It's possible you have a "dead" spot in the sensor. Also check your idle...

Re: HELP, running rough, need to truobleshoot ASAP

With headers on it, you can check the injector operation really quickly. Use an infrared thermometer and point it at the individual header tubes, while running. The lower temps will show you the...

And that is exactly why I'm going to be building an air box, so the air is properly routed to just the filter. All other components will be the same. I also don't think anyone here is trying to do...

Re: Hmmm making 85-92 Trans Am hood functional?

This is what I have so far. Once I get the hood back on, I'll be working on a ram air box. I was thinking lexan, possibly fiberglass, not sure yet.

Re: Hmmm making 85-92 Trans Am hood functional?

I'm actually really surprised that no one has done this mod yet. I'm currently in the process of trying to figure out how to direct the air to the filter, without the threat of water entering the...

I agree. That is what I'm doing for my next one. The first one I made out of MDF is a little on the heavy side. By any chance, do you know where I can find the high density foam? I haven't looked...

Re: Intermittant high idle

Yeah, my car doesn't have cruise control, so the end of the "T" that would go to the cruise, was capped off. The cap was dry rotted and leaking vacuum. Very frustrating and satisfying find. I'm just...
