89 305 tpi wont idle

Hey guys I have a question, First I just purchases an 89 305 tpi for a new project, I have never messed with a tpi system before and thought it could be fun to mess with, anyway the car will not idle unless I unplug the maf, when I do the only code that comes up is a 22 which is the tps and going through the flow chart everything seems to be normal. is there something I might be missing. Thanks

Put a volt meter on the TPS wires while plugged in. Turn the key on and monitor the voltage while turning the throttle slowly. It's possible you have a "dead" spot in the sensor. Also check your idle control motor for carbon build up.
