I haven't messed with the car yet since its been way too hot. I did however replace the heater core. It wasn't that bad, it took like 1 1/2 hours taking my time and cleaning all the dried up foam.

It sounds like a dead battery. Do a quick test with a volt meter, it should be over 12v (12.6 if its good).

The 2nd fan on a tpi engine comes on a bit after 230*. My cars carb'd and the primary fan is constantly on with the key on. I don't think the 2nd fan should really have to come on, unless I was...

no, only the first fan is on.

Don't do it. The previous owner had one on my car and it ran horrible. It would randomly stall and would barely accelerate. I bought a holley 600 cfm carb and its way better

it seems like you got the cap& rotor for a coil in cap HEI. The one you need is the kind with 9 terminals,8 for plugs and 1 for the wire that goes to the external coil

It seems like the alternator. grab a volt meter and check the voltage of the battery by itself and then check the voltage with the car running, It should have over 13v.

it kinda sounds like a short to me, maybe when you changed the gears you cut into one of the wires for the fuel pump? I would check the wires from the pump that are under the car

Did you install the fuel filter correctly? There's an arrow pointing to the flow direction, I'm not sure if that would cause your problems though
