Is anybody running any of those budget ($100-$120) tires?
I need new tires for my 92 RS with 15 inch wheels. The car will be a weekend cruiser for dry weather and I am definitely not a spirited driver. Plus with the V6 under the hood, I won't be breaking any speed records. I looked at Tire Rack and I see few options in the price range that would work for me ($100-$120/tire). Some of the options are Toyo Extensa, Falken Sincera, Kumho Solus and Yokohama Avid. All categorized as touring tires. Next step up would be the Cooper Cobra's at $150 which is a bit more than I want to spend at this time unless there would be a significant difference in ride quality. Treadwear is not too important for me as I doubt I will reach the rated wear before the tires are too old and need to be replaced.
Any recommendations or advise?

I wouldn't even spend that much. I've been buying tires through WalMart website for over a decade now. Just plug in your tire size and look for ones that have lots of good reviews. I don't touch the ones with no reviews, and don't bother buying in-store. The stuff they stock in-house is almost all garbage made specifically for WalMart's very low standards. The website is mostly third party vendors. Again, stick to ones with good reviews.
This one shows about $67 per tire with shipping included. Add about $20/tire mounting/balance at your local small tire shop and you have less than $100 per tire.

Thanks. That's a very inexpensive option. I just came back from a local auto store and they want $200 for a tire which sells for $150 online (with free shipping). As much as I would like to support a local business, I am not paying 33% more for a product just to do so. May actually consider those cheap Walmart tires.

I found that I can get SureDrive Touring A/S tires at a local Firestone at $69 per tire. Total out the door is $393 for four tires mounted. Not bad. I think they are made by Kumho. Next step up would be Toyo Extensa at $560 out the door. I may actually go with the SureDrive tires. They fit the budget, have good reviews and are sold by a shop that's right in my town.

Just make sure the tire has a warranty that you can actually have warrantied somewhere local. I've ran some of the really cheap Chinese tires in the past and they always got bubbles in the sidewalls and then I could never get them warrantied. Lesson learned.

I just wanted to give an update. I went with the SureDrive tires from Firestone. They look decent, are inexpensive, ride good (only did about 3 miles on them so far). Definitely not better looking or driving like a white letter Cooper Cobras but for a weekend driver they are just fine. Total was under $400 mounted and balanced with new valves.
