Anyone run front-runner drag "skinnies" with C4-HD 13" brakes?

I am doing my research here and on some corvette forums to learn about what style drag skinnies can be used with a C4-HD brake kit. the kit I have had on the car (and I am not planning on changing) is the 13" rotor and PBR caliper from Ed Miller at FlyNBye. Some corvette guys need to use a 5/16" spacer. I already have longer front wheel studs. I know backspacing on our cars/hubs is different than the corvettes, but I know a bunch of people here have the C4_HD kit from Ed.. but does anyone run a skinny front tire with these brakes for drag racing?

these would be used for track passes only. I would not be cruising around town with them. In the rear are my old IROC-Z wheels with a new set of Mickey Thompson ET Street SS tires, and they are working great. 1.70 in the 60 foot, and I am hoping to drop number that lower intot he mid 16x's, one of the ways would be with some skinny front wheels instead of my street/show/autoX wheels which are wide and heavy.

Eventually I plan on buying a really nice set of drag wheels and tires for the car. Something fancy and lightweight. But that is about $2,500 right there. So, I am looking to get a set of cheap/used front skinnies for this year of use. Even if someone would let me rent/borrow a set. I searched online on craigslist, ebay, racingjunk, etc and was surprised not to find much/any for sale, especially locally. A used set of Weld ProStars would be phenomenal. Something liek a 15"x4" size with an appropriate 26" tall tire

Thoughts?

Re: Anyone run front-runner drag "skinnies" with C$-HD 13" brakes?

I run the Baer 13" pbr setup with 17x9 96 RA wheels and a 1.5 or 1.25" spacer on front. When I go to the track I leave the spacer on and just install the skinnies on the spacer. I like the look of them pushed out a bit and it feels more stable at speed. Used to drive around on them all the time too.
Remove the front swaybar for the track if you haven't yet.

I also went with 2 piece rotors to lighten things up in front. Big difference. Had better 60ft with stock suspension, right rear airbag an no front sway bar but I like it a tad lower.

Re: Anyone run front-runner drag "skinnies" with C$-HD 13" brakes?

cool, cool, thanks man! That is the kind of answer I am looking for. I am surprised its so hard to find a used set of skinnies locally and even online.

- My first two track outings I left the front sway bar on with 60 foots in the 1.76-1.8 range , and just last week I went to the track and removed it. was getting 1.70 -1.72 in the 60 foot. But, I am playing around with pre-loding the converter too, vs leaving from an idle. Also, experimenting with strut/shock settings. From the drivers seat I can tell the front left of the car is rising up more than the right, so the lack of sway bar is helping. I have no rear wheel spin either. A set of skinnies would help with weight, rolling resistance, etc, so I am on a quest to borrow/rent/buy a used set, just for this year, and hopefully crack into the 11's with perhaps a wheel(s) up launch photo. current best e.t. is 12.07 at 113mph

anyone else, thoughts, input, advice on skinnies ?

anybody?

anybody have a recommendation on where to find a good set of used front wheels? I am blown away with how scarce they are on the internet; nobody sells used sets?
