Trying to remember/ID my wheels from 15 years ago
This is probably a long shot, but what the hell. If there's any place I might get lucky, it's here.
I've been trying to remember and ID the wheels I had 15 years ago when I was in highschool. I can't seem to locate any pictures of my car with them on, and truth be told, I can't totally remember EXACTLY what they looked like, at this point. And it's bugging the hell out of me.
What I do remember: They were kind of a "sawblade-ish" type design (sort of like the Center Line Trigon, perhaps?). However, a lot of companies that make those kinds of asymmetrical wheels (like the Trigons), don't make separate left/right side wheels. So on the drivers side they're facing forward, and on the passenger side they're facing backwards. My wheels actually had separate driver/passenger side wheels so they would all face forward.
I also remember them being kind of rare to some extent. You couldn't just order them out of the Summit or Jegs catalog. I even sort of remember being under the impression that they wern't being manufactured anymore (or the company went belly up, or something like that). I'm not sure if that was the case, but for some reason, I remember the only chance I would have of getting them was on ebay, and even then, it wasn't a great chance, as they didn't seem to be very abundant or readily available.
By some stroke of luck, a set had popped up on ebay, and I ended up snagging them for, I think, somewhere around $600-$700 - which was a total steal, from what I remember. A guy had them on his Vette for a few months, then decided to sell them. I also had to get wheel adapters for them, though I don't remember why (maybe back spacing, although I sort of remember it being a bolt pattern issue).
If anyone might be able to venture a guess, I'd love to hear it. It's bugging the hell out of me. I really want to see how I feel about them today (15 years later), and refresh the info in my memory about them. I know I have pictures of my car with them on, but I can't seem to find them (I really wish digital cameras were mainstream when I was in highschool).

For some reason, 'American Racing' kept popping into my head, even though I know they're not American Racing wheels. I've since come to believe they might be American Eagle, however I'm not sure of a model/style (or if that really is in fact correct).

Is that for the wheels I had, or the other one posted?
I don't really like the Trigon-ish wheels, with the way the points kind of stick out into the openings. Also not diggin the little ovals.
Not sure if I like my old wheels as much as I did 15 years ago, but I like them a lot more than the Trigon-ish ones. I think they're cleaner and more streamlined with the points not being as pronounced, and the way they follow the lines of the openings.
Yup, my bad there. Upon first glance, I thought they were Trigons, as they are very similar.

Awwww, don't be sad. The name of the wheels in my previous reply are called, 'Eagle Alloy Series 203'.
These fugly ***** are called, 'Eagle Alloy Series 218':
Hope that helps if you're trying to find something equally fugly to what you used to have.

Re: Trying to remember/ID my wheels from 15 years ago
i almost bought a similar type wheel back in the mid 90's for my cutlass. they looked good back then on a slammed ride, but mini trucks were highly popular at the time so that was the going style. now they look extremely dated and out of place. like disco stuff.

I didn't say anything about looking for similar wheels or wanting to buy those wheels again (or anything pertaining to what you personally find ugly or not). I said I was just trying to remember/ID the name/model because it had escaped me...
Did you even read the thread... or just looking to troll?
