Currently rocking the stocker 245/50/16 all the way around. I am putting 17" on the car and was wondering what you guys run. Should I go down to 245/45/17 or do the 50s still look ok and clear?

Depends on what you want - looks or performance.
Yes you can put a 245-45-17 tire on a 8" wheel and lower it. But you can also stick a 275-40-17 on a 9.5" wheel and have a huge bump in handling and braking - no other changes needed.
