Newbie needs help, 275/35R18?

Hey guys,

I've been lurking for a while, drooling over some cars and wishing it could be my car. Well, my time has finally come! A little back story first. I've had a 1987 IROC Z since the mid 1990's. It's been sitting in my garage for 10 years now. Before that I lugged it out to CA in 2002, then when my wife and I moved back to CT in 2003 it came back with me. All towed since right around 2001 the tranny crapped out, had it rebuilt, crapped out, rebuilt, crapped out, rinse, lather, repeat 9 (NINE!!!) times in about 3K miles and I finally just bought a new car figuring I'd fix this one up when I was rich and successful. Well that hasn't happened, but I do have a few dollars to put into it now. Not as many as I would like, but enough for a tranny, wheels, tires, exhaust and maybe, maybe a stereo. Anyway, on to my actual question.

I really love these wheels, they are almost the same as the stock but chrome and 18's. My question is will a 275/35 fit in the well? Will it need to be modified? Does anyone have any pics to share of a 275/35/18?

Oh the pic is right before I had it trailer back to CT. It looks the same now, just with ten years of dust and four flat spotted tires.

Yes, they work without modification. Only problem I've had with mine are rubbing the inner wheel wells at full lock with my vette wheels. IIRC you can fit a 315 in the back before tubbing.

Here's a couple pics for you.

Yes that tire will fit front and rear. But that wheel u posted is not available in a 9" width afaik, only 8" wide amd th at wheel wont work with a 275 tire.

Wrong. They WILL work. Would I recommend it? Nah.

I have 18x9.5s rear and 18x8.5s front and 275s all around.

I'd think a 255/40/18 is what you would want, or if you're dead set on 275s for some reason, you could always have those wheels stretched.

Thanks for the help guys. Unfortunately the wheels I really really (did I say really??) want have a backspace of 4.5, which will probably cause issues.

May I ask what wheel/tire combo you have on the red TA? That's the exact look I want

They are chrome 18x9.5 C6 corvette wheels. 275/35/18s all the way around.

I can't say I recommend that wide of a tire up front as they rub a little on the inner wheel well up front. If you can find some 18x8.5s as I did on the blue/silver one, go with a smaller tire as well and you shouldn't have a problem.
