Re: wheel offsets?
I would also like to know were I might get two steel wheels for my 83. The widest possible for a 10" to 12" tire. Sorry for hitching on to your post maybe we can both learn.

Re: wheel offsets?
You don't want 14" wheels - limited choices in sizes and tires, plus the largest brakes you can fit are going to be about 11" or stock size.

Could I fit 15"x12" into the rear fender wells?

Re: wheel offsets?
I learned tons by reading the link and others like it above. I ended up going with 0 offset all the way around and 9" wide rims. I have 285's (11") tires on the rear with no fitment issues and the tire I went with is an inch taller than stock. You could get away with a little bit of an offset to tuck in the rears a little, but mine go right to the edge where I think it should be.
