I like the design and would like to see a photoshop of them on the car. As far as TSW being "Too Soft Wheels"...there is always this debate on almost every car site. In order to manufacture and sell these wheels, they have to meet certain strength/safety standards.
I have seen a couple cars(Mustang and Lexus) with the Thruxton design and they were decent quality wheels and still looked good even after several years of use.

the only negatives i can find are from the BMW people, and vibrations. but it seems to be an issue with the BMW's and wheels 18" and larger, since a few people have used various different wheels/manufactures and still had the issue. Typically it was corrected with a proper balance job and hub centric rings.

Im about ready to pull the trigger on these after i get back from vacation.

About 14-15 years ago, I used to have a set of TSW wheels that were very similar to those called "Hockenhiem R". They were different in that they had a center cover over the lugs that had an anodized (red, blue, black or silver) simulated "nut" with a chrome safety clip so it (looked like) a true race wheel. Had them on a '91 Thunderbird SC. which was a pretty heavy car with some mods, and I never had any issues with them at all. I wish they still made those, but they have since been discontinued in the U.S. I'm told.

Might be ordering a set soon. Either gunmetal or machine face because my car will be titanium silver pearl soon, a bmw color. 17x8 and 17x9, the 8's have bmw bolt pattern. I am running beamer wheels now, but they are to narrow only 7.5 wide so no big deal. I will be useing my current tires 245/45 and 255/50 federal 595's. These are drift car tires.

Yes adapters are needed, but not very big ones. I will be useing my current adapters. 1.25 in front to give the 17x8 which has an offset of 35mm, 4 and 5/8 backspace. This is close to many 8 inch wide wheels made for our cars that come with 0mm offset which is 4.5 backspace. In the rear I have longer studs so I will pull off my 1.25 adapter slide on my 3/8 spacer and then put the 1.25 adapter back on. This will give the 17x9 which has an offset of 50mm 5 and 3/8 bacspace. By the way 50 mm is almost 2 inches and 35 is almost 1 and 3/8 inches.

I ordered the mirror face nurburgrings. Got them online through discount tire. Right now they are having a $ 70 savings per set and free shipping. Cost just under $800. VMS Racing Lug Nuts are Manufactured Of Aircraft High Quality A7075-T6 Forged Aluminum. These Lug Nuts are Extremely Strong And Lightweight . Each Lug Nut Weights Aprox .08 oz compared to the Average Weight of a Regular Lug Nut of 2 or 3 oz .

Wow just be careful with those lug nuts. Inspect them every time you have them off. Their ad is throwing off some bad vibes. There is no way they are are 4% the weight of a normal lug nut.

i actually bailed on the idea of using these. The setup i had investigated will fit the rear almost prefectly, but have a hair too much BS on the front and when all is said an done, i would still have to use a 1/2" spacer on the front to fit the wheels. Thats with 1le hubs and floating rotors. Its a shame really, i like these wheels.

Now i have to save my pennies for ccw's.....

it appears the TSW wheel option for me will happen, hopefully this winter. Buy calling, emailing, and annoying several people from various different parts companies, i have pieced together a solution that will make this all work. Parts are ordered, and once the glorious parts pile arrives and is assembled, i will be pulling the trigger on my custom modified TSW wheels.

Now the wait begins....

and the wheels are canceled! Got an email this afternoon that after all this time and work with my vendor, the machine shop says the back pad of the wheel is not quite large enough to safely enlarge the bolt pattern. Needless to say im devastated, lol. Plan "b" and "c" are now on the table.....

B is find something else in teh same price range that looks good and does the job, which is about impossible.

C is CCW, either classics or lm5's. But honestly, i dont want to spend that kind of money on wheels, thats why the tsw's were so attractive.

However, i received another email, and there is still a small sliver of hope left for TSW...

the bolt pattern was being altered, which apparently is quite common, there was just not enough meat left in the pad afterwards. This was a process that was brought to my attention, not something i knew about or suggested.

same wheel specs, lighter, more spokes. 5x120 pattern, that hopefully i can have altered by simply redrilling slightly to make up the .65mm difference between holes. I have a couple phone calls to make.

and i got in a GP on another forum for free shipping and some decent money off. If all goes well, these will be cheaper than the tsw's, minus the machine work.

dont need tuner lugs for this wheel, since the are 5x120, i will have them corrected to 5x120.65. It will probably involve the same type inserts are before.
