Boss 338s - photoshop - opinions?
Hey all,
I've been thinking about finally ditching the stock rims I have and going with some 18" Boss 338s.
I did a bit of photoshopping - just looking for opinions here!!
Also, if anyone has pics of 338s on their T/A, please post them! I can't find pics of these on a 3rd gen anywhere. I'd also be interested in hearing of any fitment issues anyone has run into.
Thanks!

I think with the graphics you have, the contours of those wheels are a PERFECT match. It is as if the graphics were chosen to match wheels that were already on the car!
DO IT!!!
As for fit.....What size do you want? It isn't very common that the same size wheel, just different brands, will fit differently.
Look around on TGO & you'll find many threads on specifics sizes, where the thread will also cover a wheel 1"-2" wider/narrower as well as it the backspacing changing by 1"-2".

Re: Boss 338s - photoshop - opinions?
Thanks for the thoughts guys!
92RS - the exhaust behind the front wheel is a custom Y pipe I got made to fit up to a 3" Dynomax Ultra Flo cat back system (ditched the cat) - they didn't do the greatest job, and I'm gonna do something to get it up a little higher (althought there's not alot of room under there).
Stephen - sorry I should have clarified in my first post - other guys have put these on third gens in these sizes:
Front - 18 x 8, 4.5" bs, 255/40/18
Rear - 18 x 9.5, 5" bs, 295/35/18
Everyone says they fit with no spacers or adjustments, but i'm a little worried about those back ones....I see you have 7" bs on your 315/35s.
And I haven't been able to find any picture 'proof' that these will fit properly.

Re: Boss 338s - photoshop - opinions?
Here is mine when they were 9" w/5"bs:
Since I had them widened to the inside, they sit exactly where they did before. Just wider now.
Nothing between the 8" & 9.5"? You could run the 9.5" w/5"bs front & rear. Then you'd have 4 wheels that could fit anywhere.

Re: Boss 338s - photoshop - opinions?
Thanks for the pic!! I'm feeling way better about this now. I had nightmares that they'd be sticking out right to the limit and they'd look a bit ridiculous.
Unfortunately the only choices for the 338s are between the 8" and the 9.5"
9" would probably be the widest i'd like to go on the front.....beyond that I'm thinking it might look too wide. I don't mind the staggered look, so I'd probably live with 255s and 8"s on the front.
Got any pics of your car from the back with your new widened rims? I'd love too see that.

As for pics of my 11'......Since they are the 9" w/5"bs wheels that I simply had widened 2" (now 11" w/7"bs) inwards, they sit exactly the same as far as from the outside.

Re: Boss 338s - photoshop - opinions?
i just got these rims in black for my second gen. for the price, i couldn't pass them up. they were only $630 with center caps, lug nuts AND shipping - bought them off ebay. i got the same rims you're talking about: front 18x8 and rear 18x9.5
i know it's the wrong year, but here's how they look on my car.

Re: Boss 338s - photoshop - opinions?
I'm pretty low with my 275s up front on 17" x 9", 5"bs no spacers or adapters & they don't rub at all. And I am considering going to 285s next time.

Re: Boss 338s - photoshop - opinions?
Hey all,
For those that replied that they are running these rims.....did you have any front wheel fitment issues?
I picked up my set and did a test fitment to decide on tire sizes, and I couldn't even get the front ones all the way on....the wheel hits just behind the dust cap before the mounting surface sits flush (this is with the center caps out, just to be clear - clearing the dust cap with the center cap is a whole other issue).
Did any of you have this problem? I did some measuring, and I'm thinking by best option is to run a 7/16th spacer and possibly pull by hub/rotor assembly off and put in 1/2 inch overlength studs.
Any advice?

yes you will need a spacer.. not much 1/4 inch or so. you'll be fine... man my car hasn't looked like that in along time!

I went through with it on my T/A after I started this post back in 2009. Just realized I never uploaded any after pics! I think these rims look great on 3rd gens, here's a few pics of mine. I get lots of compliments, gave the car a whole new look.

Red/White04, what's the colour of those rims, I can't tell if it's black or a dark gray.

Sorry the picture looks funny but that's my 92 Firebird with 18" Boss rims and I love the way they look. I have 245s in the front and 275s in the rear. Everyone always tells me how good they look

Guess I'll throw my pics in here too. I also went with the 18X8 / 18X9.5 combo with 245/40's up front and 265/35's in back. Wish I would have gone wider in back so my next rear tires will be wider. No fitment issues. My car is stock ride height now, but have 1" sportlines ready to install.
