So I found some corvette wheels on Ebay, they're the Z06 replica. I know i'll be hated on because they are replicas but I'm young and don't have deep pockets. Besides anything looks better than the stock 15x6 rims.

The wheel specs are 18x10.5, offset 56mm rear. 17x9.5, 54mm offset front. From previous research I understand I need wheel spacers and I have a thirdgen rearend.

What size spacers will I need for the front? Rear? What are the min/max tire size i can run in the back?

2 inch front and back I believe. I would go 275 front and 305 rear but you might be able to go bigger.

IMHO.......Figure in the cost of the adapters, before you drop $ on wheels that need adapters. I'd think about combining those two $$ amounts & see what you came get without running adapters.

tirerack recommends 295 for a 10.5" wheel. is it possible to go down to 285 safely. i really don't need anything bigger than 295, even that is more than enough. I want the minimum.

Why would you want the minimum wheel on a tire? A tire will perform at its best, if it is mounted the right sized wheel. For example....If the recommended range is 10"-12", it will perform best on a 11" wheel.

True, but the stock tire size they actually put on those 10.5" Vette rims was 275/40-18. They look plenty wide on the back of a third gen, they're a heck of a lot more meat than the stock 245's, and if the 275's worked well enough on those rims for GM to use it on their flagship sports car, well, that's pretty good for me.

Another thing to consider is that even that size leaves you with a slightly larger diameter than stock (effectively raising your gearing and leaving your speedo reading a bit lower than your actual speed). At 295, you'd have to go with something like a 35 series aspect ratio to stay close to the stock rolling diameter. At 275/40 you have more choices, and things are a bit more reasonably priced (though still 'spensive). As you get into more and more ridiculous tire sizes prices start climbing like crazy, and your original post implied that (like most of us) you don't have unlimited funds.

Oh, and also, the stock front size on the 9.5" Vette rims is 245/45-17, so you can go with those up front. Yes, you can squeeze wider tires on both front and rear, but I'm rather pleased with the look and performance of the standard Corvette sizes.
