So many times this question has been asked. Stay tuned to my posts on the headers. I am making turbo compatable headers. THOUGH you WILL NEED MY crossover to have the system work. I will put a basic thing togeather to where you come up with the turbo, rebuilt junk yard or what ever and I will send along a list on NEEDED MODS and a list of SUGGESTED MODS. I will say now that this topic has been beat to death. I have posted so many times what needs to be modded that I am getting tired of typing it. So I won't. Do a search. Thats what its there for. You need very few mods to run 10-12 PSI but above that prepare to dig deep.
Theres alot of guys here that are looking forward to the turbo set up that I am coming up with SOON. I want it, so it WILL NOT BE LONG. I even bid on a turbo today on Ebay. At first I am looking at a low RPM gainer, like a T3/4 hybrid. It will kick in early in the band and help the low end power. I am also going to experiment with mine a little and try to get room for a sequential twin turbo that has the smaller turbo for the low end and a larger one hooked inline that will kick in at the intermediate and higher RPM's.

time to beat it soe more: where are you planning to hae the turbo located? I was planning on having mine on the pass side, between the rad & block, about even w/the air box ( which will be gone). will have T from oil pump rout to readiator, go thru cooler, into turbo, go to oil pan on pass side. was going to use stock manifolds, go from pass side under oil pan, Y-pipe connect w/drivers side, go under cross member (no comments) hook up w/turbo. turbo exhaust would be routed where the heaer core pipes used to be & go to cat from there. Tranny lines would be re-routed, might even have all exhaust Jet-Hot coated to keep underhood temp down (after I sell a kidney to afford it).

Coool.... Hurry up and do it before me, So I know what to watch out for. Im lookin for a turbo or turbos right now and I dont have the money to buy new. I plan on running a small amount of boost on a stock engine 2.8 (until it blows up then 3.4).

Sorry but I am not going to tell you how I plan on making this set up, I would be cutting off my knees if I did, as I plan on making some money from this kit. I will tell you that the stock BIN program WILL NOT support the turbo, and NOR WILL AN AFTERMARKET CHIP. The bin has to be completely custom period. Sorry for not telling you how I plan on making this sytem but well... tough.
I would tell you which mods need to be done, but as I said before I have typed them in too many times. DO A SEARCH. And the smart aleck comment "time to beat it some more" will DEFFINATELY not get you my help. Now If you want to go ahead and have a system custom made by some exhaust shop go for it. If you want to wait untill sometime around summer for my system that WILL WORK cause I will have the neccesary modifacations listed and more then likely the neccesary PARTS in the kit for retrofit to have the system work.
Though I must say this is not a very good way to get the one and only guy on the board that is 1 making headers, and 2 is planning much more for the V6 F bodies to help you out.

I can make the exhaust and headers in my sleep, theres no problems there. Im just looking for the right turbocharger, or two. I still have a few tricks up my sleeve but I still think it will be hard to tune for me with the stock fuel injection. No aftermarket chip for me, they just seem like a scam. I dont plan on buying any kits either, if I wanted to pay money Id just put a 350 in there.

yeh, if ur using the 3.4L you should be able to use everything from your 2.8L / 3.1L on it. There's a post called the "3.4 Swap Boogie" was done my Ked85, he'd have more information on that swap than i could give you with three books, two beers, and a lifetime to present it in. :P if that makes any sense. Do a search for that post, and you should find it, but yeh, ur tranny will work, ur top end (FI system) will work, and ur computer should also work....

for that turbo setup stuff, i had been wanting to do a turbo swap for a long time now, especially after seeing a post a while back where a guy had mated a turbo to his 2.8L fiero, then replaced the 2.8 L with a 3.4L. Nehoots, the turbo setup cost him about 1500 bux or so to get everything running properly, i'm still in the process of searching for the turbo, i'm thinking a T-3 should work out ok? but not to sure, neway, they apparently made a computer chip setup for turbo 2.8L's . It was supplied by....damnit, can't remember the companies name, and don't have the link anymore, but it was for a turbo 2.8L fiero project, those chips are still out there, but are very limited, but it would allow our computers to run the turbo and compensate for boost. Apparently, also upgrading injectors probably wouldn't be a bad idea either, so we don't starve out those engines. After tons of thinking, a s/c might be simpliar. who knows...i can decide that down the road.

Re: turbo kit for 3.1 mfi v6
Did you ever make the turbo setup? If so does it include a cooler and does it require A/C delete? TIA

Re: turbo kit for 3.1 mfi v6
22 year old thread, and the OP has not been active on third gen.org since ‘05. Oh yeah, and the OP is permanently banned from the site so it’s doubtful he ever would’ve replied anyway. I would recommend this thread if you’re looking for a guide. No one makes a turbo kit nor super charger kit specifically for these engines + cars.
