New intake and new questions....

I got my new in take and i'm am going to put it on saturday. I will have air tools to help break down nuts and bolts, But will they snap? Do you think i should soak them over night in wd-40 or something. I was also think about putting on all new ported vacuum switch, temp. sensor, ect.... Or can I use my old ones. Also i'm rebuilding my carb or putting on my vacuum advance non-CCC carb and my vacuum advance distributor what do you think. What kind of HP i'm i going to get. I 'm hoping 10-20

Thanks
Robert

I would suggest holding the airtools in reserve for last resort usage. I wouldn't be as worried about them breaking as much as I'd be worried about them stripping, and/or damaging the tool in the process. Breaker bars are for breaking loose bolts. Penetrating oils are for loosening rusty bolts. The two together should handle most any bolt on a thirdgen. If you really need more leverage you can look into longer breaker bars or slide a longer pipe over the handle aka cheater bars. A tool in your hand is much easier to control then a tool operated by air pressure.

Keep us posted on the installation and the HP increase. I have been thinking about ordering one of those intakes myself.

i'm sorry to say todays event was a flopp, I tried to change the intake, carb, distributor, and water pump. I ended up getting kick out of the garage i was work in with my friend. so we were only able to finish the water pump, and half finish the intake and carb swap. We ended up putting the old carb back one and pasck up and go home because we were outside in the dark working on the car. Now the car has a humungass vacuum leak and idels at 2500rpm. and is leaking coollant do to looseing a water outlet bolt, I think. But i was able to get it home with out a problem, but shifting was interesting. Hopfuly I will be able to fix it tommorow before it snows. So for tommorow I will fix the leak, change the intake carb and distributor.
