Create a new end and wrap it in electrical tape.
I kinda have to do that to my wire. It keeps coming off (not cut, like yours). But, my defroster is not as necessary as your situation, thus, I just leave it alone.
Remove trim to find better starting point for making new end.

Huh?
How does tinting make a difference when it comes to defrosters??? I'm incredibly qurious...
Tom, what is the legal limit in NJ for the amount of tint you can have on all the windows? Is that -just- 5% real light tint, or 5% almost black tint?
How much did it cost you to tint yours? I want to get mine done but I'm just not good with moving that kind of material around...
(me + saran wrap = disaster)
Can you see out of it still, or is really tough to? I kinda enjoy being able to see cops sitting in parking lots behind me with their lights off. (Saved my A$$ more than once).

Just strip off 1/4 both wires and solder which is not that hard or if you have enough wire you can crimp them. Just covering it with tape isot enough, the heat will loosen it.

I took off my hatch glass to tint mine. Heavy as HELL but well worth it. Alot easier to do upside down and waist level. I did not eep on it as it was dring so there are a few bubbles but much better then the time I tried to do it with it on the car!. Just have to remember to NOT HOOK UP THE STRUTS untill the new Salant/Glue is completely dried and you have the rear extension where it is supposed to be and tighened down. Otherwise you have it sticking out about 3 inches!.
