2.8 timing chain replacement

so today I got a 82 Camaro in the shop that needs the timing chain replaced. now, not having done a 2.8 before , is there anything one should look out for? it SEEMS straight forward. however I have learned to not assume anything. do I have to drop the oil pan to get the front cover off? is there any special things to do with this one?

Re: 2.8 timing chain replacement

Afaik no you don't need to remove the oil pan. However the timing gasket set should come with a small wedge that you have to replace, which happens to be where the cover mates with the pan. You will have to remove all the drive belts and accessories. Anyone correct me if I am wrong.
