85 S10 4x4 2.8 questions

hi guys not sure if this is allowed but hoping since its a 60*6 it can slide. just wondering how much anyone knows about the 2.8 2bbl from the early 80s s10s. you see i have an early 80s S10 now (rip thundergutts you will be missed) and i just realized its not the same v6 as my 2.8 firebird had. or is it? i really don't know much about it. i know its a 2.8 i know its got a dualjet on it, v belts. all iron. and iirc its externally balanced? anyone know the best ways to make this thing last forever? thanks in advance for any help guys. my new daily and i'd like it to last awhile

Re: 85 S10 4x4 2.8 questions

IIRC the 2bbl 2.8 were the 1st design with 2 piece rear main seals externally balanced and also had the weaker crank shaft than the mpfi ones. My 85 camaro has v belts because I don't think they switched over to serpentine until 89 or so.
