Car wont crank
Hey guys quick question. Have a car that's been sitting for awhile. 92 3.1 automatic. Went and got a new battery for it today to get it going. Turn the key instrument panel comes on, turn the key but no crank, not even a click. Hear a buzzing though. Car is throwing code 46. Ive had trouble with 1 of my keys and the anti theft thing before. Is there a quick way to get the keys checked or think this may be something else.
Also I cleaned the battery terminal hook ups and smacked the starter with a hammer. Any thoughts?
Mitch

Re: Car wont crank
If you're getting a code 46, you probably also aren't going to be able to turn the engine over. Code 46 is a VATS error, which most likely means that the starter is also disabled as well as the fuel injection. You probably have a bad key or both keys. Is the SECURITY light either on continuously or blinking?
