86 Camaro joe

I have a 2.8l v6 camaro and every one
seems to want more power out of it ,
would a super chip help any at all or is it a waste ?

It's a waste. Here's what you should be doing. Learning to tune is way more rewarding than any of the "power chips" out there.

^And probably cheaper.

I've got that chip (either that or the Jet stage 1. It's been a few years...). It didn't do anything but change some values at full throttle. I didn't notice a difference in town or on the highway. Might have been a change at WOT, but not $110 worth of difference....

if u want the changes the chip will make for alot less just reset base timing to 12*

the most those chips do is add a lil advance at wot and there was one other thing i just cant rember

oh yeah remove the top speed limiter on the 3.1 cars / 2.8 cars dont have a top speed limiter

Burn2 Chip programmer=This burns the chip
GP1 Package with 2 chips and adapter=this allows you to use a solderless chip removal and also these are the chips themselfs.

ty eddie. car has 70 thousand and opened both ends. gets about 25 mpgs. have to baby to get it. will this program tell me exactly how too?or is there some info ican get from someone? dont want to damage car! lol. was thinking about using (2.8 v6/*165 scm (l)* bin ) to make driving more fun. how much horse power roughly do you think will get? will mpgs drop or gain?

eddie can this burner be used to do other cars ecms> what other things can be done with this? about how much for all? how can i go about finding other ecms to do trucks vans ect..? i knew and this excitig!

It can be used on all Gm OBD1, I know that for sure but am not positive on what else it can use. It supports certain chips. In our case on thirdgens, 27SF512 chips are great and supported by Moates equiptment.

Upload you bin file your talking about if you want and i'll look to see if its whats correct for your car.

You would need a bin such that was your stock Bin file then you have to mod it as you wish after that. Honestly I love Speed Density ecm's (7730) much better and you have a MAF set up. Im still learning MAF when I can but Im not the best help in MAF tuning. So if you really need help post up a thread on the DIY-prom area for more info.

Without changing ecms what would be the best way to eliminate the speed limiter?
I currently don't have access to a computer. I do almost everything via my Droid phone.

toggle switch wired into the vss sensor, basically hen u hit 100mph u flip the toggle switch shutting down the vss sensor then u have no speedo and the ecm doesnt know how fast u are going. when ur done u flip the toggle back on and everything goes back to normal

speed density ecm 7730? will be able to be tuned like the 165? is what is bought new?jy?same chipburner? easier to learn to do? a better uprade?

Thanks, so what wire from the ecm is the vss?
I already have the torque converter lock-up by-pass switch done. I'd just put that switch next to it.
And if I'm ever pulled over and asked if I know how fast I was going? I can honestly say no.lmao.
