cant get over 2500 rpm
88 rs 2.8 w/5speed......
my motor runs fine until i put it in gear.... i can go to about 2500 to2800 rpm in any gear then it starts shaking to bad to drive.. i checked the driveline and it is alrite, any sugestions.

did you check the harmonic balancer on the front of the motor? it has to be something on or in the engine or the flywheel/clutch if it does it in any gear. what is the overall condition of the motor, does it need a tuneup?

If the engine or flywheel were swapped out recently, my money's on the flywheel being either out of balance or the wrong wheel for the engine.
Are you sure this problem doesn't exist at idle? If this is an unbalanced condition, it should start at idle and get progressively worse. How's it seem above 3K?

have u replaced the trans mount with a poly one...i did that with my tko swap and had vibration because it threw my pinion angle off...replaced with stock mount problem solved

i did this too, i have a v6 rs and replaced the old torn up grease filled on with a polly one, i get vibrations from 2500 and higher, but it changes randomly sometime the vibrations almost go away, i thing its the clutch because it has release problems once in a while and my throw out bearing is goin bad, also get a vibration from high drivline speed after the trans, thinken of changing to the 4th gen drive shaft
