1/4 mile time: 16.00 @ 87.1mph

This is my BEST run...im pretty sure that was when i took the sound system (subs/box, amps/rack, and powercell) out...with the sound system its usually in the 17's...only problem with no system is the stock tired suspension doesnt do me much and just spins all though first....but i did happen to get traction once and got the above time....not to bad for a pretty much stock 3.1l huh....haha

Mine is is around 10sec its a 91 305 RS stock but my tranny is not working good just bought the car

ya ive had three runs pretty close to the 16 flat that i ran that one time so i figure its not to far off...i mean the gtech pro ss meter is pretty good...its just not as good as going to the strip and getting a real slip...but its pretty darn close....well ive been talkin to a few ppl on here and im gettin into the computer tunning stuff now...just ordered my ALDL cable to hook up the laptop so i run the reader program to read the car...then im running tuner pro...i just need a programmer and some spare chips...and we will be in for some fun tunning...


16secs in the 1/4 isnt bad but in todays terms unfortanly thats SLOW...my buddy just took me for a drive the other day in his new honda accord(give him a break guys lol)...its the two door six...and OMG is that thing fast...id deff say with some bolt-ons and a lil tune its easy a 12sec car...idk of any numbers but just by the feel of it and mph wise id guess its around a 14sec car stock...hes not much of a car guy tho so im sure he will do all of hanging a lil tree from the mirrior haha

LOL, I don't have a timeslip or Gtech, but I average about 6.5sec with a stopwatch. And that's leaner than I like (12.5afr instead of 10.5) at altitude. Something else is funky with the WB APYP patch I'm using, it took 88% afr change in the wot table to get it there! So far I have full length headers into glasspacks, '165 ecm conversion/tuning, t-bird maf, F1ZE injectors, stripped to 3000lbs, 3.73 gears, shift kit with heavy duty accumulator springs, IROC shift valves and an LT1 servo.

To be fair though, the S2000 is only a little 4-banger and the NSX had the crappy old Honda V6. The new Honda 3.5L makes a ton of power and the coupe accord is fairly light, and with 271HP, its no slouch.

wow, my 3.1 w/ out AC and a K&N does like 7 to 60, ive never ran it in a 1/4 mile tho

ill have to get out tmrw and time it again to see how it does, i just replaced alot of stuff

Thank you....glad someone has done the research and has my back...Trust me im not a tuner guy but i was surprised with the cars performance. I wouldnt mind one as a DD car, its powerful enough to pass and rip out of on ramps, its quiet, handles alright, plus its makes decent gas mileage. It does looks likes its hard as **** to work on tho...He opened the hood and i said "um dude wheres the motor?" He laughed and said "ehhh somewhere under all that plastic and wiring, thats what the warrenty is for!"

But ya good times guys...list your mods if you dont have an self explanitory sig tho...i wanna hear some of these guys with turbo's throw down some real numbers. It gets me all excited for the upcoming events

Yeah, I'm right there with you. I'm not a huge fan of the tuner scene either, but I do work on and drive them on a daily basis at work. They are also VERY easy to work on. I would much rather do a Timing belt or plugs and wires on them any day before I do them on my 2.8L.

I'm just not a huge fan of the way the new ones look.

haha well its nice to know someone is on the same boat as me...and see im the opposite...i think the new cars look pretty nice...IMO when they first got to america they were lil crappy tin boxes and very small, with bad crash ratings...now they have flowing lines, became bigger(and weight ALOT more...must have moved on from rice haha...full pun intended!), also have become very afforadable for the quality of car you get...dont get me wrong im a old muscle car kind of guy but for a DD car i look for afforadablilty, warrenty, repair costs, fuel mileage, and comfort/features. To me the new hondas, hundais and such have deffenitly taken on a very American standard. They are not the lil tin boxes they used to be...IMO they are great DD cars...You WILL NOT catch me puttin a darn coffee can on it or a fake BOV whistle on a switch just to sound cool tho! lol. As a DD car they are attractive in all aspects to me...as a fun car they can sit in the driveway where they belong...I have my firebird and love the thing to no end...it will be a never ending project car and will always be "the one". Just my .02 cents.

So on to the 0-60 times...anyone with 3x00 top swaps and/or turbos with any numbers?...id love to see some more of these sixes puttin down the numbers.

BUT, why turn to forgin brands to get a good DD? The Chevy malibu and Cobalt are great small cars. The new Ford Fusion is beautiful and is a great preformer. I would even consider the Dodge Avenger before turning to Kia or Honda.

This is gettin off topic here guys...but yes i know your point...I am an American car person but unfortunately the quality of a car you can get for the price and warranty you can get is just incomparable. Yes there are decent American cars being made but for what price. The cobalt for example is yes cheap but its uncomfortable, impracticable, small, and except for the SS version(now were talking money again) is lacking some power. Its tough out there for American manufactures. Its sad to say but they just arent making cars as well as they used to. The quality is lacking because they have to cut down on costs. Its sad it really is. Those are just facts. Its unfortante but its true. Now lets get back on topic and see some times. I dont want to ruin this thread anymore then we have.

Why NOT have an import as a DD? I drive a BMW while my Firebird is still under the knife No japanese cars for this guy, German or American...

I wish I would have gotten some times on my car before I blew the motor (twice) after turbocharging. All I have to say now, is tune 1st, mod later

I hate those things! Seems like whenever i am hauling a loaded trailer and get cut off or nearly get into a wreck, or something like that, it is always someone driving a Honda. It has happened to me about 4 times now.

I am sure that they are very good cars. If they weren't they'd be out of business. I have just gotten a really bad opinion of them and the people who typically drive them, so that's why I will never EVER own one.

Now that Pontiac is going away, my next new car purchase might be a blue oval (shudder)! Well, GMC is still around and so is Chevrolet.

I totally agree that the majority of the honda drivers are very wreckless behind the wheel. Thats probably because a lot of the teenage kids that just got their licenses own hondas (atleast around here they all drive hondas).

On the other hand, i have owned many hondas, (1 crv, 2 civics, 2 honda motorcycles, and the fam has an s2000) and can vouch that their engineering is amazing. All of my hondas have been driven really hard and just keep going. What other car can you drive that hard, do just the regular maintenance and get 300K out of the engine.

I love my camaro, it took me years for the perfect one and will NEVER part with it, but hondas reliability is just unmatched.

Look at my link and you'll see that Hondas quality is far from unmached. Ford's quality is just as good as honda, their cars look better, and the money stays in the country rather than being sent overseas. GM is also on par and they both beat most Asian and German brands

one of the links on the home page is for the 1987 RS Track test that motor trend did. The stats they got were: 0-60: 10.43 seconds quater mile: 17.64 @ 82.1.

bringing back the dead i know but i have a question...^^^post above me^^^...isnt that for the 305 rs?...i mean i know exhaust and intake helps my car but seriously i know it didnt get me 2 secs of my 60 and a full secound off my 1/4...thats alot of gain for $300!

0-60 in a little over 5 sec. Haven't run the 1/4 yet this year but my G-tech meter is saying mid 13's with my terrible launching ability on the stock 215/65 R15 tires! lol

I'm sure there's a post around with my mods but I don't know where...

anyway, its a 3.1 bored +.030, custom domed pistons (10.75:1 compression ratio), big cam, 1.6:1 roller tip rockers, ported and polished heads, headers, custom intake manifold, high stall tq converter, shift kit, 3.73 posi rear end, and boxed lcas. Maybe a few other little things here and there but thats the main stuff.

sweet...ya i found an old thread of yours with a link to your cardomain the other day...thats a sweet maro you got there. Im very jealous. I hope some day I will have a nice fun driving v6 like yours. Right now i have a lil issues to work out but hey its all good. For some reason i thought you had a turbo? Did that go sour or something?...i personally just hit a big stopping point as i have to pass visual emissions and was planning on getting rid of everything(a/c. egr. smog pump, etc)

Thanks. I do have a turbo. its sitting in the shop... lol. I did build some headers and a y-pipe and mounting brackets for the turbo but it can't go on the engine thats in the car (compression too high). I've got most of the stuff for the 3.4/3400 build but I haven't worked on it in a while. I still plan to do it but I don't know when that'll be.

mine is okay, it is hard to count cause i have to shift but it is around 10 sec. my car is stock with 108k on it.
