timing chain issues

this might be a problem. looks like my timing chain it skipped teeth, which explains why it wont run. but its not just a timing chain, my guideplate for the timing chain is trashed. one side of the guideplate looks like it was wore down to a smooth surface. does anyone know where i can get a new guideplate? i'll be replacing the timing chain too, so if there's a kit for this i'd be interested.

Re: timing chain issues

Should be able to get 'em from any parts store...

I prefer Napa, but to each his own...

If you're thinking about just replacing the chain, I would strongly advise against it. Especially if the chain skipped...and often times, the kits are just a very small amount more than an chain alone...sometimes even a little bit cheaper.

Anyway, incase I didn't stress it enough, the sprockets should definitely be replaced.
