What sensor is this? (pic)

What sensor is this and what is it for?

EDIT: It is located in the intake manifold coolant passage, front of engine.

i thought the one by the dist was the cold start sensor

The cold start INJECTOR is back by the distributor. The sensor in the back coolant passage near the distributor is the fan sensor.
