they aren't necessarily completely outrageous, because we have no clue how much the car actually weighs. im willing to bet its under 3000 pounds, even with the interior intact. hardtop, no gfx, v6, standard, no options, remove a/c(and condenser evaporator etc), p/s, etc, even radiator(if drag only). your talking about one low weight thirdgen. still a hell of an accomplishment if the guy actually pulled a 14.23 though.

my car is down to 3,100ish in track form,and in super stock i think the min weight is like 3,000 for a v6 car id have to check though super stockers are pretty heavy

Dave you get much respect here b/c you have done alot with your car. Things I wouldn't even try to do with mines, but the fact remains that something is different. Who's to say your picture is any different than his. I don't know, but lets just give him a chance. Just by comparing the pics I can see where his is lighter than your front end. Wheels alone can drop about 50lbs. I don't know but to me you have done more than anybody else so I'll go with your word b4 some1 elses. I say give him a chance to state his case b4 judgin.

Honestly, I thought this was probably crap too until I saw that. But it was just enough to really make me think about it. I stopped thinking about more powerful cars that can't do it, and started thinking about what it would take for a less powerful car to pull it off. It's really not too hard to believe as long as the weight is right, and more importantly, the weight distribution. Of course he could be lying to get attention. We've all seen people do that in the past. But I don't think he is.

yeah ur are right those iroc wheel i have are heavy *****,specially with 11.5 inch wide tires on them front and rear,chances are if i were to install a set of morosso trick front springs on the fronts and leave a lil harder i MIGHT get my fronts off the ground an inch or so,but even still then i doubt it.thers just something about a 2.8 even with a full drag race suspension pulling the tires i cant belive.im pretty familar with the superstock rules.and they dotn allow all that much engine work.pretty much only listed replacement parts,and stock heads,though theres 2 versions of superstock classes,and one alows some mild porting.also engine/heads must be correct casting for year cliamed on the car,so that eliminates any form of aluminum heads

I stand corrected, but I did look at almost all the pages and saw no mention of it.

But you also see the radiator.
Like I said, I am not calling him a liar, but that is a mighty big statement to just throw out there. Especially with all the other info he has given, IE full interior, "mostly stock" 2.8... ect...

but also looking through the archive thing where it giver driver/car/racing number he is not listed...

How High?

Some questions to help me make a decission on this topic.
1. Is he riding a "wheelie"?
2. Is it a full both wheels in the air stand or is it just a one wheel up.

I have never tried to pull my '84 Camaro up in the air but my '74 would do it.

Think about this: We all know how we can do the one wheel peel and our bodies do twist, So if the situation is right and the one wheel catches as the clutch is dropped with the flex of the body it could possibly pull at least one wheel up, not real high but high enough to state that the wheel was pulled up. Just a thought.

well the car dosent alaways pick its wheels up. it dose more that a 2.8 should but it isent an every run ocurance. i have only seen it cairry the wheels for about 5 feetor so. it isent that far i know that. i know i am new to this sight and yea i guess i did throw in one big statement with little proof of it.

this is why this guy is like my idol lol. i will see if i can get a compleet list of things and maby a time slip. and hopefuly some more pics

I figured out how he pulled the front wheels in his 2.8. He used the old helium in the front tires trick that works everytime

in that pic it is only one tire.he can lift both about 2 inches,also the car is not turbo,but it is nitrous injected 3.8 ,but he does not spray off the line.the car also just went in the 11.90's recently,car is massivley gutted though down to like 2,7xx pounds

I know this is a lil off the subject but I just had a fun moment that I have to share with you all here. I was on my way home from crusin the strip at the beach tonight and a 03 mustang pulled up beside me on 264 and wanted to get some. So I dropped to third and we did a lil bit and needless to say I got him by a car and 1/2. This guy followed me all the way home and swore up and down I had an 8 in my car. I had to pop the hood and let him see thats it was a 6. Granted fresh rebuild about 3 months ago, opened up a lil( with 3.1 crank and pistions). Its not much but these .28 can put out a lil power if they are treated right and the driver knows what they are doing. This 87 is a beast if you ask me and I love it to deaf. Nothin like a chevy smokin a ford and this is ford country here with the plant right up the street from me.
