Tach Question
I was just driving around today and my Tach was jumping all over the place. At first it was just a little, but it gradually got worse. i thought there was something wrong with the car, but it runs just fine. Nothin' to complain about there. Could it just be my Tach dying? What else could it be? I pulled over and checked all of the wires, they are all plugged in nice and tight. What could it be???

i guess the problem is intermittant. It didn't happen at all during my 22 mile trek from work to home. So oh well.

Have you changed the HEI module inside the distributor? It is probably your problem. I changed mine (and the coil) and it fixed the strange behavior of the tach

well, it works fine now. THe coil is brand spankin' new, only like a month old. The ICM is new, within 6 months. The thing was that just the tach was going crazy, the car ran fine. It was weird. It only did it during one short trip, but it was enought o worry me since I am driving to Fort Huachuca in AZ on Saturday from L.A. A freakin' 600mi drive.
