I am having a hard time finding the correct speedo gear housing for my 85 firebird Iron Duke. Mine is plastic and broke at the thread for the speedo cable. Transmission is a TH700 / MD8. I already know that I need a 40-45 teeth housing, I have a 45 teeth driven gear. But on the old housing there is absolutely no part number or sign what it is, maybe some PO swapped it years ago to a noname repop part... You can see in the pictures that I have a metal shaft on which the driven gear sits on and this is confusing me. Every single housing I could find on the internet is shown with an all plastic driven gear with integrated shaft. Will these housings work for my application or do I need a special part for my metal shaft assembly? Thanks guys!
