clutch pedal pushrod reinforcement

clutch pedal pushrod reinforcement
Was there a reinforcement spotwelded (or attached in some way) to the firewall on stickshift cars to keep the firewall from flexing from the clutch pushrod? If so how thick was it and what did it look like?

There brackets from the clutch/brake pedal pivots to the master attachment bolts. In addition there was added metal on the firewall in manual cars. When I swapped my car I added a 1/8 inch piece of steel to the firewall also.

Yes there is a factory plate. About the same thickness as the firewall maybe 20 gauge. I made one when I changed my new car from auto to manual.

Is that the shape it was or did you make it to fit the space it goes in? I know there's a lot going on in that area of the firewall, so there's not much flat space to put a reinforcement.
