Since this is a forum specifically devoted to 82-92 Camaro/Firebird ONLY, not just a random "tech" Q&A about any/all random vehicles, you'll probably get more (any) results if you go to a forum for 97 whatever vehicle you have; truck maybe.

Re: 1997 transmission
I am confused...
It slips in 2nd-Gear, but does not slip in 3rd-Gear?
Does it slip in any other Gear.
Fortunately the THM700-R4 and 4L60E Family Transmissions are near identically internally (excluding the Valve-Body... and it is even very similar in many ways).
Please clarify when there is Slipping, and when there is Not.
If it Only slips in Second-Gear, the 2-4 Servo-Pin Clearance may be excessive from Band wear/ mileage/ age.
