will removal of the driveshaft allow my vehicle to roll free without a key?
I have an 88 IROC that hasn't run in 15 years that I need to tow home. I don't have the key and family can't remember where it's at. If I pull the driveshaft it should roll free so I can winch it on my trailer, right?

Yes that should work. No steering and hopefully the brakes are not seized up

It will roll. You won't be able to steer as the column will lock without a key or some other changes

provided the calipers aren't locked up you should be able to roll.
