Hawks Magnum T56 Conversion Kit for Small Block

I'm pondering a swap from 700r4 to the Tremec T56 Magnum in my 89 Camaro. Admittedly, I'm only 300 posts/7 pages into a 14 page sticky on the T56 Swap, but I have yet to find in that thread (or in Search) any comments on this Hawks Motorsports Conversion kit
My car has a SBC style Dart SHP 400 block with 1pc Rear Main Seal, and Doug's Long Tube headers. I've posted on F-Body Facebook pages as well and did have one person advise about the lack of clearance with LT headers, but no one has said they've bought this kit. Has anyone used this kit? I'm not sure the Stage 1 clutch is the best option for anyone wanting a T56 Magnum. What are your thoughts on this???

I haven’t looked into their kit and how they handle the hydraulics but the slave cylinder is the big interference area with the LT’s. If they’re doing an internal slave like the gen3 cars do then the clearance won’t be an issue at all. Sorry I can’t be if more help but at least knowing where to look may give you a direction to find the answers you need.

I think this is considered internal:

What is in that picture is indeed an internal slave.

Use the Hydraulic Through-Out Bearing Configuration... and LT Headers Fit with that Trans X-Member.

Stage-1 has a wide range of Products for different power levels... match things properly and you are good to go.
I rarely still use some of their Twin-Disc Clutch Sets...
But I use RAM Professional almost exclusively (NOT Ram for Street Vehicles).

Re: Hawks Magnum T56 Conversion Kit for Small Block

I've talked with Ryan at Hawks a few times in email, and I'm going to go with the Hawks Sinister Stage 1.5 clutch instead of the Sinister Stage 1 because it's only rated at 450RWHP, and I think I'm right at the edge of that. Their Stage 1.5 handles up to 650RWHP which is definitely more than I estimate I have.

I made an error in this Post.

I was thinking that a SPEC (Brand) Stage-1 Clutch was being discussed, and not a Hawks (Brand) Product.

Please disregard my quoted post on that Clutch.
