thm200-4r help

I bought a 89 turbo ta that had not run in over 4 years. got everything working but when ti got to about operating temperatures the trans stopped shifting. I dropped the pan and it the fluid looked like mud, so I clean what I could changed the filter and added new fluid and a bottle of lucas trans fix. its kind of working for now. but Im assuming that what I saw was the clutches. (I dont really know anything about trans)
Im assuming that I need to rebuild the trans. but can someone that knows these thm200’s give me a list of the best upgrades to make it better and stronger since Im about to drop a lot of money to fix it. ( I want to use the same trans to keep te car original and it wont be a daily driver so it doesn't need to be soft and comfortable.)
thanks in advance for the help.

Give PBA (Dana of Pro Built Automatics) a call! 909-795-1876

You have a rare car with a THM200-4R and should ONLY be worked on by very select people (yes anybody could work on the car, but not many care for this car as it should be!)

Dana,

I would be happy to offer Engineering information for this build if it comes your way!
