Re: T5 to TKO 500/600 swap?
It's been done a number of times and there are a number of ways to go about it. Unfortunately, it hasn't been very well documented on this forum like the T56 has.
If you use the google search option on the search threads bar it should come up with what info has been posted. The threads and posts search option is kind of useless.

Re: T5 to TKO 500/600 swap?
I did it.
MOST people use a kit that helps realign the trans and bell a little bit for the thirdgen. I can't be overly specific as I did NOT do this. I just ran a Lakewood bell and bolted the TKO right to it. Some have to *cough* MASSAGE the trans tunnel a little!!! I did not, though it was pretty tight. Doing it the way I did puts the shifter slightly up and to the right. I made an adapter to move it back where it belongs. You'll also have to meaure for a custom driveshaft. Honestly though, it really wasn't anything difficult. I bought a UMI trans crossmember too, although I don't remember if it was needed for the TKO, or because my stock one was pretty beat, which it was.

Looks like it is part number 15020.

I didn't realize the t5 and tko would mount up to this bellhousing. Abubaca, do they include adapter rings for the various transmissions to fit the big hole? Do you know if it will fit a Ford case tko? I have a 3550, and back in the day Tremec didn't make a GM style main case for these transmissions.
Sorry to hi-jack, saw this thread and this is something that has been on my mind too.

88RS, I don't have answers to your questions, sorry. As for the TKO, it definitely bolts up, but many people do use spacer/adapter kits specifically for the thirdgen, which does give you slightly better transmission location in relation to the transmission tunnel.

Lemme see if I have any more pics. Definitely don't have the tag number. I sold that car a year or so ago. Lemme see what I can find.

Re: T5 to TKO 500/600 swap?
i bought the Mike Forte thirdgen kit, it fit the stock bell housing with a spacer. it's a ford trans part number with a longer input shaft and the stock splines. i later upgraded to a lakewood scatter shield, the tko now sits behind a 6.0 LQ9 with the same lakewood bell housing and adapter.

Re: T5 to TKO 500/600 swap?
I did a faceplated TKO 600 from libertygear and had no fit issues using a quicktime scattershield. You will have to do an offset shift handle, and id also recommend a hydraulic throw out bearing instead of the stock type slave set up.

Re: T5 to TKO 500/600 swap?
Yessir! Rode BMX in the 80's. Did an "abubaca" one day and bit it hard! Taco'd the rear wheel and all that. It became my nickname all through High School. Most never even knew why, lol. ....LOOOOooooong time ago that was!
Lemme see if I have any more pics. Definitely don't have the tag number. I sold that car a year or so ago. Lemme see what I can find.
