Oh well... ..it happens.

Probably had a ding or something that grew over time until it failed.

Awesome. That's a keeper as a garage wall art.

Re: Driveshaft tore in half?

Great, now I feel left out that I've never broken a driveshaft. I killed a flex plate, does that count?
I need to ask Mr Owl how many neutral drops it takes to shred a stock steel driveshaft.

Re: Driveshaft tore in half?

damn! impressive destruction..

..hey randy, if you want to buy a driveshaft, let me know. I assume you are in New JErsey. I live in North Jersey by Hackettstown and I removed my OEM driveshaft from my 1987 IROC back in march 2019. It was behind a 700r4 and mated to the stock 10 bolt. It never gave me any problems; I took it out because I installed a Moser 12 bolt rear axle and a built-to-order Driveshaft from Dennys Driveshafts capable of holding big power. If you want to buy my old one, I' will sell it to you super cheap since you are a TGO member in need.

let me know

That's a bit far from me as I'm near Toms river, so I'm going to look closer to me first. Worst case I'll make sure to PM you. May be buying one cheap near me today, but I'm currently at work.

Re: Driveshaft tore in half?

You just had to install that flux capacitor, didn't you?
Now every time you hit 88 mph, you get to replace your driveshaft.

Re: Driveshaft tore in half?

loooks like I will be meeting up with RandyNj tomorrow to sell him my driveshaft. It will serve him better than its doing just sitting down in my basement storage area.
