Pulling motor with trans, what to disconnect on z-bar setup?
Going to pull my V6 & T5 out as one unit out of my 83 which has the z-bar clutch linkage.
What do I disconnect? I pulled the spring, but do I have to remove the z-bar itself?

As eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzy as it is, wouldn't hurt. Beats breaking stuff or dealing with parts spoinging all over your garage.
You just spent more time posting the question on the Internet and reading the answer, than the time it takes to do the work you are trying to get out of spending the time doing.

Ok, I'll see if I can figure it out! The book made it sound complicated and I don't want to take anything apart that I can't figure out how it went after!

Pull the lower push rod off the fork, removing any springs or things attaching it. Unhook the upper push rod from the top arm of the Z. Loosen nut at left end of Z bar tube and wiggle the Z off the engine Ballston. Yep, pretty easy.

Thanks for the help! I wasn't sure if the z-bar recessed into the block or what. Once I started pulling the motor it just popped off that pivot ball. Just didn't know how it was all assembled!
