trans temp gauge manifold size???
Would anyone happen to know the size of the transmission cooler lines on a 91Z28? I will be adding an Auto Meter trans temp gauge and will be using one of their manifold T adapters but they offer it in two sizes. Sales dept is telling me I need to use compression fittings with implies that I have to cut my transmission lines and install new fittings. I do not want to do that. I need this to be a simple install. So, what are my option, and dont say thread into the pan. I am not doing that. Car is too low and I will not risk the sender getting knock off from debris.
I have heard of people using the pressure test port on the side of the trans but I do not know if that will work or not. Opinions???

Test port will work. It'll give an approximate reading, but there's plenty of people using them. Keep in mind that the trans temp sender is npt and the transmission case is straight thread, overtighten the sender and the case will crack.

I think I used a dab of grey silicone. I think I ran out of tape earlier in the day and I needed it done. Not leaking yet, so I guess it's working. Lol
