With a new speedo gear sleeve "bullet," you just need to make sure the outer seal rides on a smooth non-grooved section of the speedo gear or drive it in further.
Looks good. Yes the screw-retained tab holds it at the groove cut on the side of the bullet.

That brown gear is in as far as it will go. is it supposed to be like that? also should i apply some thread sealant to the threads on the bullet?
As for the retaining tab, clearly i wasn't the brightest when i ordered lol ordering now!
