T5 mounting and questions?

I will be swapping a new or rebuilt sbc into my camaro, and am curious as to what i would need to fit the t5 behind it. Does the 1 piece and 2 piece sealed engines have any difference in how everything matches up? I heard about needing a new flywheel, but what other specific parts such as clutches or anything would i need for one vs the other?

Also, my car needs a needs a new trans mount. Ive seen the debate on prothane ve energy suspension, and am curious since my car is lowered on eibach sportlines which would work best for having the correct angles to cause the least vibration. Thanks!

Re: T5 mounting and questions?

Only difference is the flywheel. EVERY other piece is the same.

Re: T5 mounting and questions?

Stay away from 82-83 manual Pedals. 84+ T5 used a hydraulic clutch and those pedals have extra braces required to properly mount the hydraulics. (82-83 pedals don't have this because of the "Z bar" clutch ) Pretty sure the bell-housing changed in 84 too,.....

Auto cars used a different exhaust hanger than T5 cars. The hangers were also specific to IROC or all other cars because of the way the converter bolts fit thru it.

Be sure that you get the proper Torque Arm mount/bushing. You need the later style with the bushing 'fingers' point to the drivers side of the car. ( away from Drive Shaft )

And then the flywheel,..... that's what I remember, I think that's about it !
