Car: 1991 camaro rs 5.0 tbi
Engine: 305 tbi
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: stock
Car shuts of when put in gear and smoke from tourque converter I think
okay so I just put in a used 700r4 in my 91 tbi 305 camaro rs. But when I start it up and put it in gear and let go of the brake it will shut off or when I put it in drive it will jump and then shut off.....also I notice there was a noise with smoke coming out of the torque converter I THINK and I realize a leak coming from the passenger side and when I check the dip stick it was really really low on trans fluid....yes I hav a lot on my plate right now 
.....could the low fluid be the only problem????? HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!

sounds like the torque converter is locking up as soon as you let off the brake. Is everything wired up as it should be?

Put the required amount of fluid in and make sure the cable is adjusted correctly.
