T56 clunking in 5th and 6th
I have put about 500 miles on my T56 swap now and it's great but the clunk in 5th and 6th is starting to bug me. It happens about 75% of the time just driving normally, when I let the clutch out there is a clunking sound right underneath the shifter and you can also feel it up through the shifter. It gets louder when you shift at higher rpms also. Reverse will also do the same thing it's just not as common. Anyone know what the problem could be?

Ah yes, that would be the problem...
Call Steve. Good guy. He'll help you out. Problem is, the bolts are too small diameter, and the whole link thing at the crossmember, can boink up and down. He knows about it. Feel free to invoke my name politely and kindly, NOT confrontationally.

Never thought of that thank you! Does that portion just need more pressure on it so it doesn't move around? And wouldn't it do it with every gear if that was the issue?
