Car on jacks, rotors wobble slightly
Like the post states!
I'm doing a brake job and noticed my rotors or axles have a slight wobble. Just wondering if there's an acceptable amount of wobble?
I noticed this a few weeks ago. I had a wheel sent out for repair assuming the wheel was not true.

Rear
Slight is enough to see it at the rotor. I could roughly measure but I would guess 1/16"

Do you have lug nuts on? If not the rotors will move. If the nuts are on then it could be worn bearings. There could be no wobble you could feel but still have a bent axle. You'd need to measure the run out to be sure. More info. and/or a pic showing what exactly is moving may help.

A little in and out movement is normal. Every vehicle I've owned with "C" clip style axles has had in and out movement. 1/16th sounds normal.

Yes c-clips have that normal amount of play. When car is still you can either rock the car back and forth while its on the ground... You'll hear almost a clunk noise which is fine.
Just so were all on the same page, I used the term wobble but could also describe it as a small warp. (Rotors have just been machined/ resurfaced btw).
Are you suggesting this could be a normal amount of play caused by the c-clip?
I wish I had a video clip...
