T5 help ! please

the problem is my T5 wont move the car I can just shift though the gears no noise or grinding or anything with using the clutch or without using the clutch but the car doesn't move , what Im trying to say the transmission just doesn't engage. Back ground story I got the car 350 with this T5 transmission sold the 350 bought a brand new 383 and wanted to use this T5 until I can get a TKO 600 , so I had the shop rebuild the T5 and I used the old flywheel and had it resurfaced and new clutch and pressure plate is new too. , so like I said put all this stuff back together and no engagement ?? could it be the flywheel ? please help !!! thanks a lot

Re: T5 help ! please

If I am reading correctly sounds like your clutch is not releasing.

Have someone look under the car and see if the clutch fork moves then you press the pedal.

Re: T5 help ! please

Sounds almost like the clutch is stuck disengaged

How is the pedal feel? Did you install the disk facing the correct way?

Have you checked the fluid?

Re: T5 help ! please

Re: T5 help ! please

I think I might have figured it out!! I will check this when I get Home and I hope that's all it is .. maybe my clutch fork is pressing against the pressure plate even when the clutch pedal is not being depressed ? that would keep the clutch disengaged ?

Re: T5 help ! please

Engine off, put it in neutral.
Unbolt the driveshaft.
Does the driveshaft spin?
If yes, put it in gear.
Does the driveshaft spin?
If yes, you have a clutch problem.

Re: T5 help ! please

Check your clutch fork is on the throwout bearing correctly. Sounds like you might have the fork behind the bearing, not seated in the groove on the bearing.

Re: T5 help ! please

Sounds like a V8 clutch disc and a 6-cyl transmission.

Re: T5 help ! please

Thanks, I'll try the drive shaft when I get up. And I'll make sure the fork is on the release bearing. This is transmission that was in the car when I bought it. And It had a tpi 350

Well these cars never came with a 350 and a manual trans option so who knows what the previous owner did.
