86 camaro swap from drum to disc, ebrake woes

I just slapped a borg warner out of an 89 gta in my car, with disc brake(previously had drum) all the ebrake cables line up, are adjusted right as far as I can tell, but pulling the ebrake all the way nets barely any lock on the brakes. From what I can see, the piston that the cam pushes on(on the passenger side anyways) looks like it is kinda bent up away from the cam when its pushed on, then the brake does not fully release, I have to push it back in by hand. Not that it matters because it barely works anyways. Anyone have any tips and tricks for me on this rear end? The cables are new, maybe I need to pull the calipers off and clean and lube em up? let me know, thanks in advance.

the ebrake cable for discs and drums are different just go on ebay and buy a pair.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dorman-C93858-Parking-Brake-Cable-Rear-Left-Rear-Right-/350984619743?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item51b85046df&vxp=mtr

I put the new cables on, and did the proportioning valve, i was told i didnt have to do the master though. Anyways, im full adjusted tight on the trans well splitter, and still not tight enough to keep the car from rolling. (:

thats weird i didnt have to adjust mine at all? and you dont have to change the master cylinder ($20 lifetime warranty at advanced) but will brake better if you do. Are you sure you have the correct ebrake cables? do you have a part #

The rear end came with cables, but i bought new ones to just keep the whole thing fresh, the part number is u93858, they are the right length, it just seems like something is binding up on the caliper maybe

Re: 86 camaro swap from drum to disc, ebrake woes

It seems like the caliper isnt adjusting properly, and the evrake cam is no where near close enough to make contact wth the rod to engage the brake. Ibe tried pulling the ebrake about 50 times to get it to self adjust with no luck
