Transmission 700 r4
First off i would like to say im new to the forum and hello to all ... I got a couple of questions and appreciate any help on this. A little history first , I just had my 350 tbi motor in a 91 chevy c1500 rebuilt and a thumper cam was recommended for the motor which i find out now that is not compatible with the tbi setup so i will have to switch to a carb setup to run right with this cam. I put the motor and trans back into the truck and the tbi is installed atm , i had to adjust the iac throttle screw just to keep it running so it would idle. I plan on doing the carb swap at a later time but my main question is before i took the trans out it shifted perfect and now it wont go into any gears , all i did to the trans before putting it back in is changed the fluids and filtor. I was thinking maybe the torque convertor ? but im no mechanic so any ideas why its not shifting? Thanks again for any help.

Re: Transmission 700 r4
If you are not moving in any gear, I would suspect a broken pump. If fluid level is correct, disconnect the top line at the transmission, put it in a container, start the motor and see if you have fluid coming out. If not broken pump. Usually means that the torque converter was not installed correctly.

Anyone know if there is different size crossmember for 700r4, i recently dropped a 350 in my 83 camaro and have just put the trans in, cannot seem to fit the crossmemeber on to frame rail holes are not lining up.
