Help! Looking for megasifter mounting brackets or drawing with sizes
A while ago I bought B&M megashifter off fleebay. It's installed and wired now, but i thought I can just bolt it to stock mounting plates (and I did).
All would be fine, but it's a bit too low and sits too far to the right. I can probably live with it being too low and looks like boot will work with that height as well, but I need to move it to the left to align with console. The problem is that there is not enough mounting surface to that.
So if somebody have "sapre" mounting brackets, I'd buy them. Or please post drawings with measurements.

I've just reinstalled my console so measurements aren't an option but I can supply some pictures if that helps? Also have you tried contacting B&M for replacement brackets?

Re: Help! Looking for megasifter mounting brackets or drawing with sizes
I do have pictures and that gives me rough idea how brackets look like and I can figure out lateral position, but longitudinal is an issue and height is as well. Could you please measure from bottom of the radio to the center of the stick and from console lid to top of the stick in park? That would help a lot!!! Thank you!!
As for B&M, those a@#$%ls just left me hanging with triple "NO"
1) No we don't sell them separate.
2) No we can't custom make you a set.
3) No we can't give you measurements.
Some customer service.... I especially laughed at #3, like it's super secret rocket plans and I can't get measurements elsewhere. But it does make me think twice about buying B&M product in a future.

just get some 1" wide steel sqr tube. cut 2 piece about 3 long
(OR 1 1/2) sqr tubing)
use this to lift the shifter up. drill your holes.in the tubing. lay it flat..use longer bolts.
all your doing is lifting the shifter up..
you can go to summit racing. look up the mega shfter #80692
you can see the brackets.. there easy to make..
you can get the steel from any home store. all you need is the small one they sell (12") long $3
and longer bolts $2 use grade 8 ..what 5/16...easy easy
below is what your brackets look like..easy to make a sort of copy with the sqr tube and bolt in
http://static.summitracing.com/globa.../bmm-80692.pdf
they do sell a lot of replacement parts for all there shifters. and getting the right info can be a pain in the @ss.
but don't let a brain deal salesmen who makes min wage if that!. get to ya..look past all that. and get it fixed!
any small parts your missing springs/pins/clips/they do sell. you can get the part# from B&Ms site. and just go to summit.
check to see whos giving better shipping rates. b&m some times beats summit
have installed over 150 b&m shifters in the last 15 to 18 years.. and they all are glass smooth to work!
if they don't..there in wrong or broke...
check this one out I have always like the Hurst Lighting rods! now back and better!!
and yes he will make a set for the 3rd gen
(OR 1 1/2) sqr tubing)

Re: Help! Looking for megasifter mounting brackets or drawing with sizes
Thank for the good info!! All in line with what I was thinking to do. I've seen pictures and even tried to measure to scale, but all those pics are at an angle so no luck there. I understand that exact placement is not nessessary, I am actually more concerned about height then anything else. Boot will compensate for "imperfections" but there is a limit to that and I feel that cable angle is a bit low. It shifts but I have to put some elbow in it especially shifting down from drive to 1st.I got all the small parts together and shifter is mounted and wired already. It just ended up too much forward, to the right and low so I have to move it a bit to the right (3/4 inch) a bit back and about 3/4 inch higher.... was thinking about square tubing and probably end up doing that on a back. I don't think it'll work on front, but I'll figure something out. About salesman.... it's not that big of a deal as well. I only paid about $110 total for the shifter cable tranny bracket and all misc parts, so it is still a good deal. It's just how difficult it to B&M to make extra bracket? Two pedal pushes on a press? It's just pathetic how those places got "to big to care". And BTW, Hurst is owned by B&M now, so expect same mentality.... Cheers!!

Re: Help! Looking for megasifter mounting brackets or drawing with sizes
should never be to hard to shift. make sure to loop it over the top to the right. then back to linkage on trans. cable stays on top. then drops down to linkage. the loop is larg. never to tight. for a long time. B&M sent shifters out. with too short of Cables. 4 footers...A Packaging Mistake. This Made For small loops.= hard shifting.. Min Of 5 foot long works. most of the time.

Re: Help! Looking for megasifter mounting brackets or drawing with sizes
I bought cable separate, but I think I just looked up "stock" part number and it's not 5" for sure. B&M diagram for third gen shows looping to the right and under the shaft, that's what I did. Cable feels canted to the left a bit no matter what I do. Will try to re route above the shaft. Thanks!!!!
