t56 swap: 4th gen acdelco hydraulics (beware)

Just swapped in my t56 (best mod ever)

was driving down the road today and went to downshift and..... pop, no clutch.
Thinking WTF? so got underneath and sure enough, fluid everywhere. Got it home and tore it apart quick. This is what I found

Fluid!

Stupid slot pin had come completely out, allowing the hose to burst free from the socket...

Dont be a cheap ***! using a slot pin in plastic is just stupid. Can't believe i never noticed it before.
I pushed the slave pin out with my bare hands with almost no effort at all.

M6 x 1" w/ a nylock nut solves this problem perfectly.

BEWARE!

Hey, that's a good fix there! It's actually not real common for the roll pin to come out. Haven't heard too many people say that has happened to them. Maybe the pin was undersized, or the hole in the plastic was deformed. Anything's possible. But yeah, a small bolt and locknut will make sure that sucker doesn't ever fall out again!

Thanks pat!
I have no idea what the problem was initially. Too many variables, like you stated. But the peace of mind seems worth the tiny bit of effort it took, especially if the system is out of the car.

Nice repair mod....
I can honestly say in over 18 years and many clutches and slave kits installed I have NEVER seen this happen.
