TCC Lock-up in Reverse?
I know it wouldn't be 'normal,' but is there any condition / defect that could make the trans try to lock the TC in Reverse?
The problem I'm having is stalling when shifting from Drive to Reverse, or Park to Reverse, AFTER the car is warmed up. Does Reverse just fine when backing out of the driveway first thing in the morning, but then drive it 5 - 50 miles and it will lug really badly ( usually stall) when shifted into Reverse. I put it R once and kept the engine running w/ left foot on brake and right foot tickling the gas...made a kind of squealling sound (wasn't the tires). Could I have been overpowering the TCC between engine torque and brakes locked?

Would have to look at the hydraulic diagrams, but I don't think it can.

Re: TCC Lock-up in Reverse?
Thanks for the reply Apeiron; any thoughts on why the car otherwise drives fine, but shifting to Reverse kills the engine, even when trying to keep the revs up with the gas pedal?
Maybe the car is just nervous because it knows I'm taking it in for an Emissions Test today! LOL /JK / etc. etc.
Thanks again.

Re: TCC Lock-up in Reverse?
Could I troubleshoot the issue by disconnecting the plug on the L/H side of the trans? Or does that electrical connection control more than TCC lock-up?

Re: TCC Lock-up in Reverse?
Disconnecting the brake switch s plug has same effect as disconnecting the plug at the trans ( and prob cleaner to do)
