4th Gen Rear End Swap
Alright. I dont know where to post this...bear with me please...I want to get rid of my 88 Camaro's rear end and replace it with a 4th gen disc posi rear end. 1.Because I hate drum brakes 2. Ive heared somewhere the 4th gen rear ends are wider (I like that look)
So i would like to know what I need to buy to do a complete swap.
Differential
Master Cyl?
and of course, Re-bent Brake lines right?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Re: 4th Gen Rear End Swap
You need the master from a 3rd or 4th gen, need 4th gen calipers, rotors and pads, and fittings to adapt the 3rd gen lines to 4th gen calipers. And a proportioning valve.
I did this swap but already had rear discs so no need for proportioning valve or brake master. 4th gens do stick out about 2 inches wider and look stupid with 3rd gen backspacing IMO. Get some 4th gen wheels and 2 inch spacers for the front 4th gen wheels. They look good that way.
You may or may not need more or less stuff, this is just from my experience. I am sure someone with more knowlege will chime in. Good luck and post pics when done.

Re: 4th Gen Rear End Swap
hey hello I have a forth Gen rear end in mine, the biggest issues are around the width
although I'm running 8.5 x18s with a +30 off set on my rear wheels and havent looked back can supply pics of the setup if you like but not a huge difference except hand brake etc and 50mm wider,
hand brake cables were custom made to fit and speedo is about 20km out

Re: 4th Gen Rear End Swap
4th gen are 50mm(2") wider so aftermaket wheels need to have a minimum of +30 offset to avoid rubbing or looking like Joe Dirts car
