Where to buy 9-bolt shims and other Qs.
I'm rebuilding a 9-bolt and read everything on the board I can find but still have a couple of questions.
1. Where do I get packs of shims for the pinion, behind the cones and carrier to case?
2. What is used to mark the gears to check the pattern? And where is it sold?
3. I'm swapping in 3.27 in place of 2.77 and want to use the less worn set of cones. They hadn't touched the case yet so how much can be removed from the nose?
4. Is crush sleeve elimination just some shims or a special fitting?
5. Any tips on getting the pinion nut off? I've WD40ed and still nothing. I'm about to get the torch out unless there's another way.
6. Does anyone have the brackets to attach PBR calipers to the 9-bolt?
Thanks.

1 there are no specific shims, you have to use what you can. Ratech sells shim sets in various OD and ID sizes, I forgot the sizes but if they fit on the cones without obstructing the ID and OD they will be fone.
2 yellow marking compoundm GM 1052351
3 check how deep they sit, then take off whatever is needed to get the wiundow to be about full open.
4 a spacer + shims
5 Impact wrench
6 stock rotors? Ed Miller flynbye.com has them and for larger rotors

Great. Does a hammer count as an impact wrench?
