buy complete ls1 or build it
hi guys
just wanting to get some opinions here on buying a complete ls1 with accessories and harness or building one
a friend of mine has one from his 98 trans am thats torn down he thought he had prblems with it and bought a 408, the stock one has been checked out and everything is ok
localy i can get one ready to drop in for around 3200 if i remember correctly if i build the my friend has i'll have to get the gasket kit accessories brackets and harness
my thinking is if i build it to bore it over and maybe stroke it, but unsure of stroking that engine as i'm not real famamliar with ls1 like on hawks webpage they have 408 and 416 short blocks how much bore and whatever is needed to acieve this
wouls i have problems running factory heads after doing this until i could get better heads
will a t5 tranny bolt up to an ls1? i know it's probably to much horsepower for it buthow long could i use it before it went out?
thanks in advance for any feedback

The best way to do a swap is to have a complete donor car so you have the whole removal process in front of you and then know how to install it.
The further away from that and towards "I'll buy this, then that, and piece together this," the worse off you are.
