G force prices

For you guys with G force t5's, did you have them rebuild your old t5 or by their's? Also what were their prices?

Re: G force prices

I had G-force gears put into my NWC T5 by Hanlon Motorsports. WC units are getting hard to come by and they ended up using a WC main shaft and the upgraded G-force case. If I remember correctly all this was a little over 2k.

Re: G force prices

It shifts about the same I guess. I'd recommend a Pro 5.0 shifter. One thing that should be noted is to be prepared to hear whining in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd with each gear getting progressively louder. 4th and 5th don't whine so its not bad if you are cruising though.

Really? Do they use straight cut gears fro 1-3?

Re: G force prices

They aren't straight, but the angle is not as steep as the stock gears so they whine.

Re: G force prices

For a little over $2k, you can do a T-56 swap, and have an ALTOGETHER superior transmission.

THe G-force and similar stuff is really for people who are racing in a class, or otherwise have rules, that prevent them from putting in something that can withstand normal power levels. Not the wisest expenditure of cubic $$$$ for people like us who are just looking to fix it ONCE AND FOR ALL and make it stop breaking all the time.
